Making Our Plan Implementable
O'Hara Township and Fox Chapel Borough will spend the next year working together to generate a long-range comprehensive plan. This process will officially establish a vision, priorities and stepwise action plans for both local governments during the next 10 years. This plan will inform future decisions concerning land use, development and budget priorities, and it creates the basis for updates to local regulations. This plan will allow the communities to meet state requirements contained in the Municipalities Planning Code.
Councils from both communities appointed a Joint Committee that led selection of a consultant (Pashek+MTR). The Committee will guide the process for public engagement and sifting through all received input to determine community priorities. The Committee will help shape the plan's recommendations and action steps, ensuring that the results are impactful and implementable.
The plan will be built on a foundation of proactive public engagement that will ultimately ensure that it address the issues and opportunities that people really care about. Recommendations will provide sufficient detail to help move strategies
toward implementation.
Two Communities, One Plan
Planning Beyond Political Boundaries
O'Hara Township and the Borough of Fox Chapel recognize that many planning issues have no regard for political boundaries. That is why this implementable comprehensive plan is a joint effort.
Additionally, working together will position the two municipalities more competitively for grant funding and will strengthen connections and capacity that can help successfully implement the plan.
